EDIT November 8th 2024 - product is finished and launched - PRODUCT PAGE.

    ---

I haven't had a BMW motorcycle for a long time. My first BMW was twin cylinder F650GS back in 2010 or 2011. When I started to do more offroad, I got myself one nice G650 X-challenge, in 2011. or 2012. Both were great bikes. But I never owned or even rode a big GS. I always looked at it as a great bike, but too much of a bike for me - too big and too heavy for riding I am doing, and more comfortable then I need the bike to be. When BMW announced R1300GS, I saw something in it, something different and new. Bike seemed much more dynamic and, allow me to say, off-road adventure biased then before. So, I got myself 2024 R1300GS in Trophy flavour

Due to Comfort package I opted for, bike came with thick pillion seat and appropriate OEM top luggage rack.

One of the first things I did, was to get the smaller OEM top rack (actually just the grab handles) and OEM rear seat cover. Small OEM top rack / grab handles part number is 46725A75D68, but you need to get a plastic cover 46637106015 and two clips 52105A09840, to complete the setup. OEM rear seat plastic cover is called "luggage plate" and the part number is 77141541531. Much better.

After that, I got a small pillion seat (part number 52531541507) instead of "luggage plate" so I can move on the bike when offroading. And I got a rear muffler holder (part number 46717108002) so I could remove passenger footpegs. This gave me the looks and functionality I was after.

Just to strap the luggage and leave for some trips. But, there was a problem - small rear 'top rack', actually just grab handles - didn't offer any useful strapping points. So, it was a CAD and prototyping time. And here is what I came out with. Milled out of aircraft grade aluminum alloy, extensively milled and sculpted, with formed threads.

And to put it into context (mind that production version will be anodized in black)...

Simple looking, complex to manufacture and completely blended into OEM 'mini rack', this aluminum billet part provides two M6 threaded holes for Mosko moto Gnoblin mount

It is elevated enough to provide perfect position for Gnoblin, so mounting and removing appropriate bags is a breeze. And bags sit in a perfect position and at a perfect angle.

Before showing the bags, few notes.

    - we are working on a simple tie-down brackets, which will provide perfect point for lower straps, in case OEM passenger footpegs are removed.

    - here are shown V4 versions of Reckless 40 and Reckless 80 systems - with Curv base. Curv base holds the bags better then the softer bases on previous versions, so there is no need for additional lateral supports. Older versions (V1, V2 or V3) won't fit this well.

    - luckily, and this one was my main drive to develop this part - these OEM grab handles provide very good and gentle support for Mosko bags.

    - disregard flimsy underside foam on our Reckless 80, it is foam from V3 model. Don't ask.  :)

    - using a heat shield (provided with Mosko Reckless bags) is strongly suggested!

    Enter the bags.

    Mosko moto Reckless 10

Great for short trips, for air compressor, tyre plugs, rain suit.

    Mosko moto Reckless 40 v4

My favourite. Although too small for camping trips (for me, at least). Shown here without central bag and rear Aux Pox bags. Adding these will improve the capacity significantly.

    Mosko moto Reckless 80 v4

Multi day trip or camping trips, this will get you covered. Add central bag for more capacity.

I made this for myself. Prototype shown here is the final one - position of the Gnoblin mount is a spot-on and part itselfs perfectly blends with the OEM mini rack. I have used it on several rides and I am very happy with it. We will offer it for sale soon. Due to complex production process (custom fixtures for CNC and complex milling tool strategies), it won't be cheap but we will try to offer it for a reasonable price. I had an idea to make it much simpler (read - more affordable) but the design would be much less appropriate for this great looking bike. So, this is it. Tie-down brackets should be finished soon.
