Aprilia Tuareg 660 might not be the most popular bike on the market, but that certainly doesn't diminish its capabilities, both off-road and on the road. Paired with right luggage, Tuareg is ready to tackle any adventure. Now, "right luggage" is extremely subjective matter and will depend on so many factors.
For those looking for a robust, spacious and adaptable luggage setup, Mosko moto Reckless 80 V4.0 might be the right choice.
80 liters of capacity, and plenty of options to mount additional bags make the Reckless 80 well suited for longer camping trips.
In stock form, Tuareg comes without a tail rack so there is no place to attach any luggage. We have designed our Perun moto Aprilia Tuareg 660 Top luggage rack to rectify this issue, and to improve usability of the bike.
Our rack comes with several pre-drilled holes meant for installation of the Mosko moto Gnoblin. Once you find the position which works the best, it's super easy to install or remove the Reckless 80.
Legs on the harness are set in position 4, the steepest one.
For those who don't use the Gnoblin, our rack provides perfectly positioned slots for straps. All edges of the rack are chamfered which greatly improves longevity of the straps.
Using straps instead of the Gnoblin makes for faster adjustment of the Reckless 80 fore-aft position.
Lower straps are secured to Perun moto Aprilia Tuareg 660 Tie-down brackets.
Passenger foot rest brackets will work fine as a tie-down point, at least for pavement riding. However, I find them to be a big liability when riding off-road. They would hit my calves far too often.
RHS bag will rest on the stock silencer. Use of the heat shield is necessary. Keep in mind that Aux-Pox are not filled in these photos.
Composite base of the V4.0 Reckless 80 gives enough rigidity to the bags. This removes the need for additional side supports on the left side of the bike. Bag sits away from the swing arm and rear wheel.
This entire setup is a tad narrower than the stock handlebars (looks narrower in the photo than it actually is, that's due to lens perspective). This is great for riding in tight stuff or filtering trough traffic, where legal.
When more space is needed, Stinger 22l tail bag fits under the Beaver-tail.
As can be seen in the above photos, even with the Stinger bag installed there is enough room on the Top luggage rack for additional items (tent or similar).
This video gives a nice overview of features, fitment and installation options of the Reckless 80 V4 on Aprilia Tuareg 660.
A couple more photos showing the Reckless 80 without the tail bag installed.
