Ducati DesertX with Aux tank and Top luggage rack

We designed our Ducati DesertX Gen1 Top luggage rack before the Aux tank was available. We wanted to make strong and useful, but low profile rack. So we designed mounting system with strong billet aluminum clamps, fixing to the rear grab handle. Since we wanted to provide even more strength and durability, we also added stainless steel side supports which greatly improve the strength of the rack assembly. 

Unfortunately, once we got the Aux tank, we realized it can't be installed with our Gen1 Top luggage rack. So we redesigned the stainless steel side supports, to make it fit. Difference between Gen1 and Gen2 side supports can be seen HERE. 

New side supports are still made out of 4 mm stainless steel, and they are bent on the CNC press brake with the special tooling. 

Now, the fit is perfect. Updated Perun moto Ducati DesertX Top luggage rack now seamlessly integrates with Ducati Aux rear fuel tank. 

Notice how the updated side supports don't interfere with the Aux tank, while still providing the strength to the rack assembly. 

Of course, our Top luggage rack can be used with or without passenger seat. 

Since no pannier racks work with Aux fuel tanks, Top luggage rack and space on the rear seat will be used to carry luggage. Top surface of the rack is almost flush with the rear seat, which provides long surface for the bags.
