Aprilia Tuareg 660 with Givi Canyon 40l tail bag

Soft tail bag with lockable, quick release mounting system? After spending some time with Givi Canyon 40l tail bag I have to say that the concept is appealing for commuting and general riding. Not fiddling with the straps is a huge plus in these riding situations.

This bag has an integrated Monokey mounting plate, meaning it mounts just like a regular top case. Perun moto Aprilia Tuareg Top luggage rack comes with pre-drilled holes for Monokey mounting hardware (hardware is not included with the rack). Hardware installs directly to the rack, keeping the profile as low as possible.

Once the bag is locked into place, it has nowhere to move. I have tested it on graded dirt and gravel roads and it feels secure in those conditions.

However, I would refrain from using this bag if planning to ride in more challenging terrain. Why? When the Canyon bag is full, it is wider than the rear end of the bike. If (to be honest, it's better to say "when") the bike falls down there is a good chance the bag will hit the ground. I feel like that could put too much stress onto the Monokey mounting system, potentially damaging it. Don't get me wrong. build quality is great.

The bag has roll-top closure at both ends. This makes its size adjustable which is always a nice feature to have. There is a large zippered opening underneath the top flap cover. Thanks to this, reaching things inside the bag is easy and quick.

Givi Canyon is, IMHO, a great everyday bag, best suited for road riding and light off-road duties.
