Mosko moto Reckless 80 V4.0 on BMW R1300GS - minimalist setup

Mosko moto Reckless 80 V4.0 offers loads of storage space in modular, extremely robust design. It's a luggage system which works well both on small and large bikes. BMW R1300GS certainly falls into later category. To maximize the capacity, we are using the Stinger 22l bag under the Beaver tail. If even more space is needed, it's possible to add Molle pouches to the upper side of each leg.

To make installation as seamless as possible, and to take full advantage of Mosko moto's Gnoblin, we have recently launched our Perun moto BMW R1300GS Gnoblin mount. Sculpted to blend with small OEM rack / grab handles (part number 46725A75D68), it provides two positions to mount the Gnoblin.

Installing the Gnoblin itself onto Reckless 80 harness is simple. There are two positions to chose from, and it requires only four bolts to be tightened.

We are running legs of the harness in position 4. This angle works great on all the bikes we had.

Lower straps are attached to our Tie-down brackets. These super lightweight brackets are replacements for passenger foot rest brackets (for riders who don't travel with passenger, obviously), and provide smooth, perfectly angled slots for straps.

Excess webbing length can be cut off (recommended only if you never plan to use the same bags on different bikes) or safely tucked away under the velcro loop.

Once the bag is mounted onto the Gnoblin and straps are tightened, you can be sure they will not move around.

Stiff composite harness of the V4.0 Reckless 80 provides plenty of rigidity. Even though the legs are not directly supported, there is no risk that they will interfere with the rear wheel. There is enough room between the harness and the tail of the bike to add Aux-pox on dedicated carriers (wink wink).

Please disregard the floppy fitting rubbery foam on the underside of the harness. It's an old foam from v3.0 Reckless 80 which has different shape and doesn't fit nearly as good as actual v4.0 foam would.

Having a mono swing arm gave BMW engineers the chance to move the silencer low and much closer to the bike. This gives plenty of clearance between the bag and silencer. Heat should never be an issue with this combo.

Reckless 80 is relatively wide setup. Still, even with the Aux-pox installed, it's slightly narrower than the stock handlebars. 

I know it looks like bags are wider than the handlebars in the photo above, but trust me when I say that they are indeed a bit narrower. Lens optics and perspective distortion are at play here.
