Perun moto BMW R1300GS Top luggage rack Sport is compatible with Givi/Kappa Monokey and SW-Motech top cases. One of our PREVIOUS ARTICLES was about the SW-Motech Trax ADV top case. This week we'll take a look at how the GS looks with the Givi Trekker 46l Dolomiti top case.
Top case mounting hardware, which has to be sourced separately from Givi dealer, installs directly to our luggage rack. Holes for hardware are marked with CNC machined circles which eases the installation. For detailed, step-by-step, instructions please CLICK HERE (Section II).
As can be seen from the photo above, mounting hardware is installed directly to the rack. This negates the need for adapter plate, resulting in slightly less weight and lowering the center of gravity.
With the top case installed, slots on sides and on the front of the luggage rack remain accessible. This comes in handy if you plan to strap a small dry bag to passenger's seat.
46l of capacity make the Givi Trekker very practical in daily usage. There is enough room to pack a helmet (when off the bike), backpack, laptop or whatever. And black looks good on a GS, IMHO at least.
As with the rest of our Top luggage racks, please keep in mind that they are primarily designed to support rack-less bags The rack sits at a slight angle, lower and more forward than pavement oriented top rack would. This leaves less room for passenger. 1300GS is a large bike so this is not pronounced as on some other bikes, but it's still worth a mention.
