    There are several great rack-less luggage systems for dual sport bikes on the market - Mosko Moto Reckles 40 and Reckless 80; Kriega Overlander 30; Altrider Hemisphere Saddlebag; Wolfman Rolie Saddle Bag system, E-12 Saddle Bags, Enduro Daytripper Saddle Bags, Enduro Dry Saddle Bags, Enduro UltraLite Saddle bagsGiant loop saddlebags etc.

    Although all these bags are really nice, I choose Mosko moto Reckless 40 for my KTM 690 Enduro. These bags fit on 690 perfectly. Profile is very slim, weight is low and near the center of the bike. Perfect for gnarly stuff.

    Also, if mounted properly, bags are very secure.

    I designed luggage rack and heel guards with these bags in mind. Here are few pictures showing how Reckless 40 fit on KTM 690 Enduro equipped with Perun moto KTM 690 Enduro Luggage rack SD and Perun moto KTM 690 Enduro Heel guards.

    Reckless 40 bags have two rear straps. There are two sets of slots on luggage rack, made for these rear straps, so position of the bags can be perfectly adjusted.

    Mosko moto 40, front position

    Mosko moto 40, back position

    This allows fine tuning of bag's position. Properly positioned, bags won't interfere with riders butt or legs, even on steep downhills.

    Heel guards are providing perfectly positioned strapping points for leg attachment straps. Slots are angled towards the bags, so straps stays in place.

    Also, exhaust side heel guard is positioned a bit outwards, so strap is safe from exhaust heat.

    Properly positioned, there is no chance exhaust could burn the bags.

    Edges on luggage rack and heel guards are chamfered and easy on the straps. No sharp edges here.

    Mosko moto Reckless 40 is great luggage system. But I am sure that combining these bags with Perun moto KTM 690 Enduro Luggage rack SD and Perun moto KTM 690 Enduro Heel guards will make luggage combo for KTM 690 Enduro that is very hard to beat.

    Nikola,

    Do you need to remove the entire bag to get access to the fuel cap or can you just disconnect the middle part and fold it forward?

    Thanks,
    Dean

    @Justin

    Both bags are great and both fit on 690 flawless. It all depends how much space you need. Take an hour or two and try to gather all the stuff you will carry with you. Then see how much room will you need for that. If you can throw it all in R40, go for it. If not – R80 is the way to go.

    @Peter
    Sorry I didn’t saw this earlier. For future reference – you don’t need pannier racks for R80.

    I have a new 690R and I’m trying to decide between the reckless 80L and 40L????
    I just want bags and no frame.
    Suggestions?

    Gorgeous! I’m getting my 690 next week. Thinking of the Reckless 80L. Are you concerned about loading the rear frame (no subframe, just the gas tank). Certainly with the 80L I’d need a frame mounted rack system (touratech or equivalent)? Please advise.

    thanks,
    Pete
