I. Installation of the Side carriers w/o rear top rack
1. Remove the plastic caps, on both sides. Remove the seat.
2. LHS and RHS plates are not the same. Take the RHS plate (see below the photos of the mounted plate and notice the difference between the engravings on LHS and RHS plates). Install the stainless steel side support using the M6x20 bolt, M6 small washer and a safety nut, as shown on the photo below. Align the 9 mm holes and tighten enough to hold the Stainless steel side support in place.
3. Do the same with Billet support, but use M6x30 countersunk bolt (and M6 small washer and a safety nut). Align the holes. Tighten so the Billet support stay in place.
4. Place the 18 mm washer as shown below.
5. Place the 4 mm washer as shown below.
6. BONUS STEP - Make sure the threads in the holes on the frame are OK. Screw one M8 bolt all the way in and check if there is no cross-threading. If you find the threads are crossed, repair it with a tap or get someone do it for you.
7. Using two M8x40 countersunk bolts, install the already prepared plate, as shown below. Do not tighten yet.
8. Make sure 18 mm and 4 mm spacers are in place. Make sure everything aligns well.
9. Tighten M8 bolts to 15 Nm. Tighten M6 bolts and washers.
10. Using 4 x M6x20 countersunk bolts, M6 small washers and safety nuts, install the L-shaped bracket, as shown below.
11. If you plan on using Mosko moto Aux Pox 4l or Kriega US-5, we suggest putting the L-shaped bracket in the lowest position, as shown below. Some other bags may require higher positions.
12. After placing the L-shaped bracket in the desired position, tighten M6 bolts and nuts. Don't overtighten.
13. Do a visual inspection and check if everything is firm.
14. After several rides, check the bolts and re-tighten if needed.
II. Installation of the Side carriers with Perun moto rear top rack
Side carriers and Perun moto Top luggage rack can be integrated only if Gen2 Top luggage rack is used. If you have Gen1 Top luggage rack (difference is only in the side supports, described here), you will need the updated (Gen2) side supports for the rack (purchased separately) - then just remove Gen1 side supports and install Gen2 side supports, as per instructions for the Gen2 Top luggage rack.
1. Remove the plastic caps on both sides. Remove M8 bolts and 3D washers holding the rack, on both sides.
5. Unlike when you install just the Side carriers, you DO NOT use 4 mm washer when you are installing Side carriers with the Top luggage rack. Just use M8x40 bolts into the countersunk holes, as shown on the photo below.
8. Make sure 18 mm spacer is in place. Make sure there is no spacer where the Billet support is.
III. Mosko moto Aux Pox 4l mounting
Note that ONLY 4l Aux Pox can be fitted. Larger, 5l Aux Pox has a different bolt pattern and can't be used on our Side carriers.
Tried and tested with OEM silencer and Termignoni silencer. Can't be used with bigger or higher mounted silencers
1. For each side, you will need the hardware shown below.
2. Place M6 large washers on all bolts (4 x M6x20 and 1 x M6x30 buttonhead bolts).
3. There are five holes on the back of the Aux Pox 4l. These holes will be used to bolt the Aux Pox to the Side carrier. Start with the center hole and use M6x30 bolt for it. Shorter, M6x20 bolts will go to other four holes. Don't forget M6 large washers on the inside.
4. On the outside, there are holes you can use to reach the bolts.
5. Make sure L-shaped bracket is in the lowest position, as shown below.
6. First, place the Aux Pox as shown below and pull the strap through the slot.
7. Secure the middle bolt (M6x30) with a small washer and a safety nut. Do not tighten yet. Then use M6x20 bolts with M6 large washers on the inside and M6 small washers and safety nuts on the backside, as shown below. Two holes in the front, two in the rear.
8. Check if everything aligns well and tighten all five M6 bolts. Don't go super-tight, safety nuts won't go off on their own.
9. If you carry heavy items or large rack-less system over Aux Pox bags, it is a good idea to use central strap to further secure the bags. Use the strap like shown below, pulling it through the slots on the L-shaped bracket.
10. Install the Tool roll or 4l dry bag. Make sure there is at least 1.5 cm clearance between the silencer and the bag, when the bag is pushed down as far as it can go.
IV. Kriega US-5 mounting
Tried and tested with OEM silencer and Termignoni silencer. Can't be used with bigger or higher mounted silencers.
1. Attach Kriega Subframe loops (provided with the US-5 Drypack bag) to the slots on the upper side of the Side Carriers. Cut off the excess strap length, to prevent it from being tangled in the rear wheel.
2. If not already there, move the L-bracket to the lowest position. As shown on the photo above.
3. Make sure to pass G-hooks straps through the webbing loops on the bag, as shown below. Additionally, pass the strap underneath the buckles of the roll-top closure. This ensures that the bag will stay in place.
4. Use upper G-hooks to attach the bag to Subframe loops. This will keep the bag in place and help with the rest of the installation.
5. Loop the central strap through the slot on the rear of Side carriers before closing the buckle.
6. Slide bottom Hook-on loops from the bag through the slots on the bottom of the Side carriers. Front and rear.
7. Attach G-hooks to Hook-on loops, both in front and in the back.
8. Tighten all the straps and make sure the excess length is safely tucked away. Make sure there is min 1.5 cm between the bag and the silencer.
8. Installation procedure is the same for both sides of the bike.
9. If you carry heavy items or large rack-less system over US-5 bags, it is a good idea to use central strap to further secure the bags. Use the strap like shown below, pulling it through the slots on the L-shaped bracket.
10. Before and after the ride, always make visual inspection and make sure bags are secure. Make sure the RHS bag is not touching the silencer.
V. Giant Loop Possibles mounting
Tried and tested with OEM silencer and Termignoni silencer. Can't be used with bigger or higher mounted silencers.
1. Pass the straps through loops on top side of the bag to make sure it will stay in place. From our experience, it’s best to use the first loop in the front, and the second one in the back.
2. Make sure that Side carriers’ L-bracket is moved all the way up. This provides necessary clearance from the silencer.
3. Loop the straps as shown in the photo. Looping the strap through the rear slot of Side carriers prevents the bag from moving back and forward.
4. Pass the straps through loops on the bottom side of the bags. Again, use the first loop in the front, and the second loop in the rear.
5. Tighten all the straps and make sure the excess length is safely tucked away.
6. If you’re carrying heavier things in the bag, it’s a good idea to add the strap which loops through the L-bracket.
7. Installation procedure is the same for both sides of the bike.
8. Before and after the ride, always make visual inspection and make sure bags are secure. Make sure the RHS bag is not touching the silencer.
