Kriega US-40 Rackpack on Aprilia Tuareg 660

Kriega US-40 Rackpack is Kriega's largest tail bag. As the name suggests, it has a capacity of 40 liters. This makes it a grate place to pack bulky camping gear for that long trip. It has roll closure on both ends and the volume can be reduced to 28 liters.

Perun moto Aprilia Tuareg 660 Top luggage rack is a perfect platform to install US-40 bag on a bike. The rack has two slots in the front, and two in the rear, which are primarily designed and placed with Kriega US-40 in mind.

Simply pull the G-hook straps trough the slots on the rack, hook one end to the loop on the US-40, and buckle up the other end. Strapped like this, the bag is secure and doesn't move. Chamfered edges of the Top luggage rack mean the straps are safe from damage.

Keep in mind that this type of strapping works best when the bag is full and compacted well. Less stuff there is in the bag, more difficult it becomes to tighten the straps. If I'm carrying the US-40 bag at close to empty, which I do on some trips, just as a "backup" storage to be able to store away food, removed clothing layers, using simple cam buckle or Rok straps is a better solution.

As with other Kriega bags, US-40 has attachment points on the top. Other bags are easily added. My favorite add-on is Kriega OS-Bottle, 2l bottle which I use as an external pocket. This further improves bag's versatility
