Husqvarna Norden 901 Billet top rack

So, we all know that Husqvarna Norden 901 is made on the KTM 890 Adventure base. Frame and subframe are same. But bodywork is very different (including seat, rear light assembly and grab handles) so I wasn't sure how our current 790/890 Billet top rack - Large would fit.

Well, it turns out that it fits perfectly (mind that we just created Norden specific package - read till the end) .

Bolt pattern is same. More importantly, angle of the rack, relative to the grab handles and the rear seat is same.

Our current 790/890 Billet top rack - Large can be installed on Norden using standard hardware we provide with each rack. Thread engagement is same as thread engagement of OEM bolts used for stock plastic tail rack.

Due to 3D milled underside of the rack and 3D countersunk holes for the mounting bolts, our rack sits very low above the tail plastics, which helps with lowering the center of the mass (of luggage strapped to the rack). Also, rack is flush with the stock seat (actually, rack is a few mm’s lower) which helps with the luggage placement, especially if rack-less systems are used.

More, rack sits just on top of the grab handles. This is important, as rack supports grab handles when they are pulled upwards. KTM 890 Adventure grab handles were prone to braking, so this support is important, as it greatly reduces leverage.

Regarding the rack-less luggage, rack can be installed without grab handles easily. This makes installation of rack-less systems a breeze.

If you already have our 790/890 Billet top rack - Large and you want to install it on Norden 901 without grab handles, you will need four 23 mm high spacers. We sell them as KTM 790/890/901/1X90* Grab handles removal kit, but you can source them locally too (or add two M8 washers onto 18 mm spacers included with 790/890 rack). Mind that we just created a new product on our web site – Husqvarna Norden 901 Billet rack – Large, which is 100% same as the current 790/890 Billet rack – Large, but with those 23 mm spacers included.

Rack also accepts Givi and SW-Motech top boxes, with appropriate hardware kits. In next couple of days, I will show the fitment of those top boxes too.
