New Perun moto KTM 690 Enduro Luggage rack SD is meant to be small and compact. Since it is not sticking out of bike's tail footprint, risk of rider injury in case of fall is minimal. Also, it is less likely something will hit directly into the rack, in case of fall. Due to many well positioned slots, despite its small dimensions, it serves as perfect strapping platform for rack-less bags, rollie bags or for 1 gallon Rotopax can.
But some folks who ride with pannier racks, or who don't ride tough, hard enduro trails, would like a little bigger top surface, for strapping bigger soft luggage.
I am working on Extension plate for Perun moto Luggage rack SD. Like on previous model, extension plate will be straight bolt on. It will be made of 4 mm aluminum. Edges will be chamfered, like on the rack. Black matte powder coating.
This is current CAD model.
Here are overall dimensions, in millimeters.
Side flanges will leave enough room for turn signals, if they are mounted in upper position.
Comments much appreciated!
I will update this blog post as I implement some changes to prototype model.
