Husqvarna 701 Luggage rack and Vanasche minimalist pannier rack
There are numerous options for pannier racks for Husqvarna 701 out there. However, most of them are on a bulky side, meant for installation of hard cases.
For riders who are conscious about the weight of their bike and who prefer smaller soft luggage systems, options are limited. One of the new lightweight solutions are Vanasche Motorsports Minimalist Pannier Racks 2.0 for Husqvarna 701.
Working together with the Vanasche, we made sure that these new pannier racks integrate seamlessly with our Gen 2 Luggage rack. All necessary mounting hardware is provided with the Vanasche Pannier racks.
Installation of the Vanasche Pannier racks is simple, involving removal and reinstallation of only four bolts and spacers on each side of the bike. For detailed installation instructions please click HERE (section C).
Keep in mind that these Pannier racks use the same lower mounting points as OEM passenger footrest mounts and our Heel guards, meaning it's not possible to use them with either.
If riding with a pillion, this might be a deal breaker (not that the 701 was meant to be used this way). But, as far as securing the soft luggage systems is concerned, this is absolutely not an issue. There is a cross bar near the bottom mounts which is used as anchor point for straps.
Vanasche Minimalist Pannier racks have a very slim profile. They follow the bike's contours and only add a couple of centimeters of width to the 701's rear end. There is no way they will interfere with riders' movements, even in most demanding riding situations.
Without the luggage installed, the pannier racks come in handy as grab handles.
We have tested them with several of the most popular rack-less luggage systems and can confirm great fit with Giant Loop Great Basin, Mosko moto Reckless 40 and Reckless 80 V3.0. Pannier rack provide side support for lower part of the bags, making all of these luggage systems even more stable.
